Monday Madness: Movies of the Aughts

As I'm typing this I'm watching At the Movies. One of the critics put Wall-E at the top of his movies of the decade list. This is why I don't listen to critics. I hated that movie. So what are my top movies of the aughts? Keep reading.

My top five movies:

5) Slumdog Millionaire

Who knew when I was watching sex-obsessed Anwar on Skins that he would be in one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the decade?

4) I Am Sam

Dakota Fanning's amazing in this movie. I really can't picture another child actor in this role.

3) The Dark Knight

Every time I attempt to watch Batman Begins I fall asleep. Luckily The Dark Knight had a much better script and a hauntingly brilliant performance from Heath Ledger.

2) Before Sunset

I could watch this movie all day. Actually, I have watched this movie all day. Although it's the sequel to Before Sunrise, this movie is able to stand on its own. I never saw the first movie until recently, but you don't need to see it in order to understand this one.

1) The Notebook

I'm good throughout the whole movie, then Duke says, "That's my sweetheart in there," and I lose it.

The following movies are in alphabetical order because it was just too hard to rank them.

Almost Famous

Amélie

Casino Royale

Catch Me If You Can

Coyote Ugly

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

The Departed

The Incredibles

Maria Full of Grace

Motorcycle Diaries

Moulin Rouge

Paris Je T'aime

Phone Booth

Save the Last Dance

Shrek

Spirited Away

Thirteen

A Walk to Remember

Y Tu Mamá También
